Yesterday (Gloomy) we saw a Loon swimming down the lake and diving for food.
And then we saw it again today for quite a while.
4 Pr Red Breasted Mergansers. Some Pied Billed Grebes. And we still have Buffleheads and Lesser Scaup.
A Red-bellied woodpecker and a downy at the feeders.

Another Rainy Day
Gloomy, Rainy. with a little bit of Sun. 48/37
Squirrels are becoming quite active and there are quite a few.
Saw our first Muskrat swim from way west to our dock then turn south. Seemed small.
Goldfinches, Grackles, Downy Woodpecker, Towhees, Fox Sparrow, Red Winged Blackbird
Waterfowl: Pied Billed Grebes. Red Breasted Merganser. Scoup. Buffleheads. Canada Geese
Maple Tree starting to bud a couple of days ago. Nothing on the Birches,

Yesterday it was lovely and hit mid 70's!

On the Lake every day:

- Mallards
- Canada Geese
- And sometimes Hooded Mergansers

Sunny & Bright
The snow lasted on the ground up to 2 days ago, Today 46/34. Little wind.
We still have one or several pairs of Hooded Mergansers, Buffleheads, and Mallards. Only one or two geese at a time so far.
Today a flock of grackles attacking our feeders. Goldfinches at the feeders. Occasional Robin and Redwing blackbird.

Snow Day
Woke up to 2" of snow. Didn't see it fall overnight. Cloudy 24/34 Today/
At least two pairs of Hooded Mergansers are still with us. As well as a few Canada Geese and Mallards. Several days ago a flock of Starlings. Pat has seen a finch, a sparrow, and 2 Robins.

Sunny and cool and very windy. Hooded Mergansers seem to be gone. A mallard or two. Didn't see any geese. No birds at feeders yet.

Light overcast, 25/40 wind is down. Small birds beginning to return to feeders. House Finches.

Returned from Oaxaca
Return from Oaxaca winter vacation March 5, 2017 Going to try to keep up the Blog for a while.
Monday March 6th.
Cloudy & cool. No snow. Lake not frozen. Fallen sticks all over from the birches. Feeders are empty so no small birds. On the lake several pairs of Hooded Mergansers, a few Malards, and a few Canada geese.
Tuesday March 7th
Sunny 37/48 F Filled the feeders. Getting the yard cleaned up. Hooded Mergansers still on the lake this morning
